About the Pastor
Bishop Dr. Michael D. Reeves Jr. is a pastor, educator, and community leader devoted to
empowering individuals and strengthening families through faith, education, and financial stewardship. He is proudly married to Lady Leah Reeves, and together they share a beautiful family of four sons—Lorenzo Sr., Michael III, Johnezel, and David—and several treasured grandchildren.
A passionate advocate for economic and spiritual growth
Dr. Reeves has led numerous financial empowerment seminars, workshops, and outreach programs across the community. His groundbreaking dissertation, “Ministry in the Development of the Christian Family through Financial Empowerment,” is archived in the Library of Congress and reflects his life’s mission to equip families for holistic success.
Dr. Reeves’ leadership extends beyond the church.
He has served as President of the NAACP
Hamilton/Fairfield/West Chester Unit 3186 and as Assistant Secretary of the Ohio NAACP State Conference, championing justice, advocacy, and community advancement
A respected scholar and professor, he has taught at Ohio Christian University, Columbus State College, and United Theological Seminary’s Doctor of Ministry Program. His academic accomplishments include a Doctor of Ministry, Master of Divinity, MBA, Bachelor’s degree, and Associate’s degree.
In 2017, he was consecrated as the Southern District Bishop and Bishop of Christian Education for the Perfecting Churches, and in 2019 he was appointed 3rd Presiding Bishop. He serves faithfully as Pastor of God’s Light Ministries, where he teaches believers to shine a path toward salvation and success through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
